Ya hace un par de años que en teoría ejercimos nuestro 'libre albedrío' sin saber que lo estábamos haciendo. Y esas decisiones nos han ido llevando por el mundo sin sospechar lo que nos encontraríamos en cada ciudad donde hemos vivido. Con el tiempo la dependencia de un computador por asuntos laborales ha ido incrementándose. Y de la misma forma la necesidad de poder trabajar desde cualquier lugar. En uno de los trabajos más desgastantes que tuve, debía hacer *todo* en sitio a la hora que fuera, implicando que si algo fallaba a las 3AM tenía que desplazarme mínimo 10 minutos en carro hasta la oficina, digitar mi contraseña, ejecutar a veces no más de 5 comandos de sistema y regresarme a intentar descansar lo que podía. O debía asistir a infructuosos "Cambios" (término ITIL) de 6 u 8 horas de los cuales sólo podía moverme hasta la zona de baños y regresar. Reciéntemente, debido a la madurez de otras empresas/clientes, he podido asumir las mismas actividades pero fuera de sitio, con la seguridad de que los clientes saben que las cosas se hicieron y que todo funcionó sin inconvenientes. Esto del TeleTrabajo te hace trabajar tal vez la misma cantidad de tiempo, pero te da la facilidad de compartir más con tu familia o seres queridos. Y ese tiempo es invaluable en términos humanos.

Starting a couple of years back, we started exercising our 'free will' without a single clue of what we were doing. And these choices have taken us through the world without knowing what we could find everywhere we have lived these years. In time, the need to use computers due to working matters has been increasing. And at the same time the need to be able to work from everywhere. One of the most wearing jobs I had, *everything* had to be done on-site at any given time. Meaning if something failed at 3AM I had to commute a minimum of 10 mins. by car, enter a password, run not more than 5 system commands, and go back home to rest whatever I could. Sometimes I even had to attend gone-bad 6-8 hour "Changes" (ITIL term), in which I could only 'commute' to the rest room and back. Due to the recent companies I have worked with, I have been able to assume the same roles off-site. My clients know things are being done and everything usually works flawlessly. TeleWork gives you the ability to work the same amount of time, but allows you to share more with your family or loved ones. And that amount of time is something priceless in human terms.
